How do you choose the right furniture for different spaces?
Start with how you actually live in the space. A piece can be stunning, but if it doesn’t serve your day-to-day needs, it’s not the right fit. I like to ask: Where does the light fall? What’s the flow of movement? Once you understand how the room functions, it’s easier to choose furniture that supports that rhythm—visually and practically.
Tips on mixing furniture styles and materials?
Contrast is your friend. A little tension between styles—say, a streamlined bed with a vintage nightstand—adds character. Just keep a common thread running through the space, like tone, scale, or material. It doesn’t have to match, but it should relate.
Advice on selecting functional yet beautiful pieces?
Look for pieces that do double duty. A dresser that also acts as a visual anchor in the room, or a nightstand that brings texture into an otherwise sleek space. Beauty doesn’t mean fragile—solid craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and a little soul go a long way.
Any other expert advice?
Take your time. The best spaces evolve. Layer in pieces that have a story, a bit of history, or just make you smile when you walk by. That’s what gives a home personality—and longevity.

Hi! I’m Hannah Go, an interior and product designer based in Los Angeles with nearly a decade of experience working across residential, retail, and experiential spaces. I run my own studio, Studio Hanego, where I focus on creating interiors that feel layered, lived-in, and full of intention. My strength lies in mixing the refined with the offbeat—pairing timeless forms with unexpected textures, vintage finds, and community-sourced pieces. I’m a big believer that good design should be both functional and deeply personal. Outside of client work, I’m also a mixed media and ceramics artist, which heavily influences how I approach materials and composition in interiors. I love a space that tells a story—and ideally, has a sense of humor too.
