My Philadelphia dining set and reclaimed wood desk are all stunning. I truly appreciated the photos submitted by the artisans as the development process was ongoing. I was able to recognize my individual chairs and dining table by the wood grain patterns noted in the photos. Even though the process was long from beginning to end (June 4 to November 7), customer service was always responsive and when the delivery service completed their assignment, they noted that other customers had been waiting for orders from Hong Kong and other destinations (not from SLC) for many months. Once the furniture is completed, future buyers need to realize it is out of SLC's hands once the items are loaded into containers for the shipper. It was reassuring to use the Silverlight app to track the ocean going vessels. Additionally, I love the fact that the pieces are so unique. If one is looking for "uniformly distressed" items, there are a multitude of those options on the internet through furniture distributors.

We were aware of the long lead time when we ordered the product and it was long (ordered very end of November, delivered mid March) however the photos and progress reports of the product were helpful and the easy access to updates on status let us know that the items were being worked on and on schedule. The quality for the price is the main draw for this company. We looked locally for a set of table and chairs and though we paid about 20% more than we budgeted, we got a substantially higher quality product than we ever thought we could afford and we took advantage of a holiday coupon so we did save a bit there.
There was some mix up with the white glove service but it was resolved in the end. The important thing is that the customer service rep in California was in contact with me the whole time to resolve the issues. In the end, I would choose the white glove service again.
Our new table and chairs are solid wood and a thing of real art and beauty. No fake wood, no veneer, no short cuts. Thickly hand polished layers of stain and lacquer and natural wood grain are our reward for the long wait. If you shop around, you'll find that the only thing in the same price range locally is pretty cheap and awful. It's worth the wait for this product. Before landing at Sierra Living Concepts I search far and wide for a specific type of table. I was thrilled to find exactly what I wanted at SLC. I placed the order on Oct 3rd 2020. I was surprised to hear I would get the table & chairs before Christmas. Wow - I didn't expect it that fast but awesome. Well, that date came and went without a table. Although you have a great customer portal you really can't tell how much longer it will take to march through the build, pack and ship process. I had to ask. I was told I would receive my order by the end of January. Once again, that deadline came and went without my order. I expressed my frustration and I was given $150.00 off of my order, which I didn't ask for but appreciated. Finally my table and chairs arrived on April 8th, 2021. I had a moment of trepidation because the box had a huge hole in the side, but the furniture inside was fine. Hats off to your packing folks. They did a great job protecting my order.
Now that I finally had my long awaited table and chairs what's the verdict? They are beautiful and very well made. I couldn't be happier. They are exactly what I wanted. I've read many reviews describing similar issues, therefore I don't understand why you don't tell everyone it will be 5-6 months. Under promise and over deliver not the other way around. I will and have recommended your company to friends and have been showing pictures of my order to anyone who will look but I tell them if they place an order do not expect delivery sooner than 6 months.

I would like to say that I'm so happy with you all and these chairs. Service and product was perfect!! Thank you for all your support through this whole process. Not with standing the Suez Canal disaster. From my sales agent, who was the one who helped me with my first purchases from Sierra Living purchase a few years back. She was great along with Raual and Nancy support with all my questions. 110% all round.
The delivery process on the other hand was not so great. The driver and the assistant on the actual delivery were great and did a good job. But the scheduling was lacking.
When I called to schedule the assistant wanted me to meet the at the Walmart parking lot to to receive my chairs. Our street is so small with large trees you can't get a 18 wheeler down the road. I had told her that. I asked for a smaller truck, she told me they did not have any smaller delivery trucks.???. So I told her I would meet their delivery 18 wheeler at the end of the street and make the transfer. I waited 30 min after the 3 - 5 Hr window. I call to check on the delivery and was told. You will not be getting your chairs because we can't take a 18 wheeler down your street. We need to get it onto a smaller truck. Then my brain exploded, I told her that's what I had requested in the first place. And I told her that their scheduler had lied to me. NOT GOOD . They rescheduled and the delivery took place and all is well. There were only two spots that had rubs where the finish and stain was removed. I have ask customer service for a small amount of stain and finish to touch it all up. I know that this is long but I did want to let you know.

The furniture is great but the "white glove service" needs a lot of improvement. i spent a lot of time on the phone with XPO trying to get the delivery done correctly, and then contacted your customer service people. Everyone was very nice and helpful and arranged for a team to come in directly and finish unpacking, and then assembling the dining room table. The team that came were polite but seemed to be in a hurry. They didn't bring a big enough vehicle to take away all the packaging, so I let them leave a lot of it the garage. This ended up being a good thing as when I went to get it all to the street for garbage pickup one of the boxes was heavier than expected. Inside the box was the base part that connects the two table supports together (a piece that's about 4 feet long and weighs a few pounds.) To get the part in place requires partial disassembly of the table, which I'm planning to take care of next time my son is in town. Overall I would have been better off having my son and a couple of buddies take care of things for the price of a pizza and a couple of beers.

The end product is fantastic and very enjoyable! I'm afraid my rating isn't stellar because I was unprepared for the long delivery time. I ordered the items in the beginning of March 2021. I received it in the beginning of August 2021. While I completely understand that the scope and quality of the work takes time, it would have been nice to know the timeframe of the entire order (including shipping time) before I placed the order. Nowhere on the product or checkout page does it say that the order is manufactured and shipped from India. I was told initially that the order would be complete by end of May. I assumed this included delivery time. It did not. In addition, the company that received the shipment in my town refused to deliver to our door due to driveway inconvenience. We had to pick up our own order and drive it across town to our home ourselves. We were not charged for the delivery thankfully but it was not the finale to this long delivery process that I was anticipating. The order was heavy and we could have used the assistance of the delivery company. As it was, they only assisted with lifting the item onto our truck (which is not meant for heavy hauling) and didn't even provide any securing equipment until I requested it.
Overall I am satisfied with the items themselves but am very put off by the shipping and delivery process. I understand that these things can't be rushed, but it definitely makes me think twice about ordering from you again.

The team at Sierra Living Concepts, Adam Trevino and Nancy Dow in particular, were terrific to work with. We had a lot of trouble with the delivery company. They delivered the table top and chairs on February 12th, but did not deliver the table legs. XPO Logistics was terrible to work with. Adam and the team worked very hard on our behalf to find and eventually (19 days later) have the legs delivered and the table built. He actually had to find a different logistics company to pick the item up from XPO and deliver it (they went to four different warehouses to find the legs).
The team went the extra mile for us, and I know they share our disappointment in the delivery company. Unfortunately, when they built the table, we discovered that two bolts were missing (the bolts that attach the floor brace). We had no bolts that would work as a replacement, so that piece is not secured. The company did not remove the packaging that the table top and legs were delivered in.
Adam and Nancy made the best out of a difficult situation. They communicated on an almost daily basis until the order was fulfilled. The quality of the table and chairs, and the extra efforts of Adam and Nancy are the reason we would consider doing business with Sierra Living Concepts again.

Furniture is somewhat darker than the all the pictures I viewed before ordering and after final images were posted. I Would have preferred a little lighter stain with more hint of red. They will work OK I guess although I was hoping for a better match with some existing rosewood. The furniture itself, both the table set and the end tables are well made and heavy. Much better than the stuff in most furniture stores with wood you can't find either. No damage as the packaging was very robust. The freight only delivers with a semi-trailer so there is no way they could navigate to my house on a lake. This necessitated me and my brother in law having to drive over an hour away to the terminal to pick the shipment up. Not that big of a deal but a box truck delivery could have solved that problem. Tracking was excellent and I was able to actually track the ship carrying it and accessed the dock cameras at the Port of Houston to see the ship being unloaded. The shipping estimate was too optimistic as it took a little over 23 weeks for delivery. Hardware was OK but the nuts were slightly over sized and rendered the included wrenches useless. I may purchase a media center in the future..... The last picture I am posting is of the rosewood I was trying to match.

Here are a few concerns.
I think you should be more up front with the fact that the furniture is made in India. Your website, with a Fremont physical location noted, is very misleading.
"Free delivery", but I was asked if I wanted "white glove" delivery - the table would be put together for me - for $500. I declined.
BUT - I was not informed that my table and chairs would be delivered on a pallet directly from the ship. Of course, thinking my furniture was coming from FREMONT, I thought all I had to do was attach the legs to the table. It took us over 1 hour to de-crate and de-box it all. AND I have quite a bit of packing material to dispose of.
AND- the delivery showed up by surprise- no email warning of its arrival- thank goodness I was home that morning. (There was nothing on my direct link to my order either)
That being said, the end product is beautiful. Angie was a wonderful help on the phone and very patiently steered me to the correct color finish. Seeing my table now, she was ABSOLUTELY right in this choice. She also helped me choose the correct size table. The finished product and ANGIE are the stars of this entire process.
We do not have the table in the room quite yet, since we were surprised by the delivery. I will share photos once it is in place

The table and chairs are solid and heavy, However the finish is more of a ‘rustic” look, not highly polished. There are some color variations in the table top due to the wood species I suppose. Assembly of the table was straightforward and required two strong men to lift and set the table top. The stain we chose was darker than we expected, and not seeing a sample was our mistake. Your delivery process was exceptional, with the exception of local delivery cancellations that were outside of Sierra’s control. I suggest that formal agreements and or a premium compensation package with local delivery contractors would prevent similar future occurences.

Let's start with the only downside. When we ordered we thought that the furniture was coming from California only to find out that it would be made in India and need to go through customs, etc. before coming to us. This is not a huge issue, but it would be nice if people understood that it was not being made in the US.
Aside from that, the customer service is wonderful, we were contacted whenever we needed to be. Before being made, the sketches were sent to be sure of size, etc. We were informed of transit, the freight company was contacted, the white-glove service to do unpacking and setup were ready when the delivery came. Both the freight delivery person and the setup people were very good and congenial. The table and chairs are beautiful, study, heavy, and will last for years to come.
Thank you, Sierra for a wonderful product at a reasonable price and for you kindness throughout the process. It took a while, but was worth it!!!
