The end product is great. I love it. The communication re: the initial process was good.
However, once the cabinet arrived in port, communication went downhill in terms of who was doing what and when I could expect the unit. It was looking to be a 3 month start to finish to delivery span of time. In the end it was 2.5 months. The delivery was even worse- waited 6 hours. We called, told they were had a breakdown, were on their way and so on. Too many calls made to find out if we were going to get the cabinet delivered on the day it was scheduled. I was getting ready to call Sierra Living when the delivery truck pulled up. So the arrival in the US and delivery rendered a 4 star as our rating and not sure I could put myself through all of that again and especially for the long wait involved for it to be made and sent to us. I will refer you to family and friends only with caution.

I love the chest. I was a little unhappy about how the delivery process took place. I was told I would receive an email with final instructions which I did not. I had a delivery person call me and give me a different window for delivery...a much wider window that I was told. That is a real problem when you have white glove service and the white glove service (WGS) needs to be on hand to be able to move the furniture into the house once the item gets to the destination (my house). I personally had to get on the phone numerous times to try and find out when the estimated time would be for arrival so the WGS would be here. It should not have been my job to have to take care of this. In fact I was told it would be between the WGS and the delivery driver to coordinate the whole thing. That didn't happen until I got involved and tried to find out how to do that. When I called Sierra Living Concepts to let them know the issue, I was initially told they weren't responsible to have anything to do with the WGS and it was the first they heard of it. What? That wasn't what I was told, and somehow I was finally sent to someone at Sierra LC that took care of it and seemed to know what was going on. But, it took me a lot of phone calls to make that happen. I was the one texting and calling the WGS to try and keep them updated. I liked the guys at the WGS. They were really trying to make sure to get here at the same time as the Delivery person and did. That whole process between your WGS and delivery driver contacting each other and coordinating the time together has something to be desired. I love my piece of furniture though! It's beautiful! The lady who finally helped me in the end at Sierra was great. I wish I would have been sent to her initially!

The cabinet we ordered from Sierra Concepts was perfect size for our TV and audio equipment. It was easy to order online and track the entire process from construction to delivery. The cabinet is constructed from solid mango wood with excellent craftsmanship. As a lifelong woodworker, I was truly impressed with the quality. When I drilled a hole in the back for the cables I was amazed it was made of 1/2" mango stock, no plywood or manufactured wood. I decided to add a second shelf to accommodate the receiver which was easy due to the 100% solid hardwood construction. Note: since I did not have any mango wood around, the added shelf was 1" solid walnut I had from my woodworking hobby stock with walnut side supports.

We really enjoyed the experience of shopping online. We used the live chat and phone call with the sales rep to select products. Very good experience. We also enjoyed watching the images of the products as they were built, finished and packaged. There were images loaded into our portal at one point that were two different images of the same product, so we weren’t sure which one was ours, but that was corrected. During the building process, emails that we sent with questions were answered promptly. When we ordered the furniture in November, we were told to expect delivery around the third week of February. In March we inquired about delivery and were told we could expect it early April. The order didn’t arrive until the third week of April. This was not a huge problem, and we know with the COVID-19 crisis, many things have been delayed, but communication in the portal on expected completion date and arrival date, even if it ends up changing would be helpful. I was happy to receive the survey in January or so about preparing for the white glove service. This gave confidence in the delivery process. However, it seemed that selection and booking of a delivery service was not initiated until about a week or so after the products reached the US and had sat in New Jersey waiting for pickup. Then the white glove service selection wasn’t booked until the delivery arrived at its closest destination. This seemed to delay the delivery as the products waited in New Jersey for the delivery to be arranged and waited again in Cadillac Michigan until a company was found and then waited at the white glove company until they could fit in their schedule. That being said, I realize everything is hard right now. The dining table arrived with damage from the shipping process. Flow of communication upon delivery and in the process of resolving the damage was a little confusing ( part of that was my missing an email). You promptly worked with us to arrange a replacement, which is in process. I really like the concept of your business model and we enjoyed the experience. We also love the furniture! I was nervous to by so many pieces with the finish that we chose. I loved the look on your website but didn’t know if it would look too busy in our house. But I love it! Thank you.

Your company was great, and I understand the shipping coming from India and the covid thing. But the shipper passed it to a company called FASTMILE they are absolutely terrible. The communication between them and me the customer was less then desirable. Total lack of communication on their part and they said it would be delivered close to 6 pm they arrived three pm. The problem with that was and I explained this to them at least 3 times… our house is being remodeled and we are not currently living there. My electrician happened to be there when they showed up with the pallet, he signed for it. Of course he did not check it over for any damage. I am not happy that FASTMILE left my expensive product with a worker and not me or my husband knowing what the situation was. They were also suppose call when they were a 1/2 hour away, that did not happen. That experience was not good!

I was really let down with the delivery process. A single guy showed up to deliver our 392 lb side board. I’m a 95 lb woman, and he asked me if there was anyone available to help with it. I was holding my 5 week old baby at the time and told him no, there was no one else home to help. He then told me it is their protocol to deliver only outside the home. I ordered an indoor furniture piece so I expected it to be delivered indoors. I also have no idea how o would get a ~400 lb item inside my house. The guy felt bad I think so he put it inside my house in the entry way with his lift. Now I have this sitting there and I have no idea how to get it to my dining room.
When you order from pottery barn, multiple delivery men arrive and place the item where you’d like it. For how much I paid for this sideboard and how long I had to wait for it, I would expect similar service from sierra living concepts. I think I will just stick to pottery barn moving forward.

We love our custom sideboard and hutch. It is extremely well-build, solid, and is absolutely a statement piece. We were pleased with the process from start to finish. We liked bits and pieces from different stock furniture and Sierra Living worked with us to create the perfect hutch. They did not begin production until we were completely satisfied with our custom piece. Then, they kept us informed, with pictures, as it made its way through the production process.
Lastly, word of advice, pay for the white glove delivery service! We did not and wished we had. While our custom hutch is two pieces, it was shipped fully assembled measuring over 83” tall making it impossible to get through any doorway without taking it apart. Since it’s solid, it weighed over 500 pounds, which made it difficult to maneuver. If there is any critique, I would recommend that Sierra Living ship furniture partly disassembled, or with standard entryways in mind. Otherwise, we are extremely satisfied and would buy from Sierra Living again.

Everything was great! My only complaint would be some minor scuffs on the top of the sideboard which probably happened after packaging. It looked like something was dragged across the top, I'm thinking from the delivery crew. I didn't see how it was loaded in the truck. Maybe some extra protection on the top would have been good.

The piece of furniture is beautiful - took awhile to get but I completely understood why and your customer portal was great keeping me updated. Delivery service you guys use is terrible - driver was rude and unprofessional. He did not have the ability to get the console off of his truck by himself (had to get my husband - I filmed it) but first he wanted me to sign the bill of lading before he would unload it - I told him I could not until I inspected the packaging. Console was way in the back of his big, dirty truck. He told me he would not unload until I signed because he stated if I then refused delivery he did not have the ability to get it back on the truck (kept telling me - their company policy is one truck, one driver) so if I wanted to inspect it, I had to climb onto his dirty truck and go to the back to inspect it - I said I am not going to do that just unload it - he said no and then started to close up his truck to leave - my husband came out and said I will go on the truck and he did, inspected it and then had to have my husband help him unload it - then I signed the bill of lading (don't know why if was ok now to unload before signing) - my personal opinion based on how hard it was for both he and my husband to unload it is that he knew he could not do it alone and would probably drop it and wanted me to have the bill of lading already signed so he could just leave me with now damaged product. We were just lucky my husband was working from home yesterday.

The doors don't close evenly, and two magnets don't even connect with the other side without pushing the doors in, and then they are uneven anyway. I have to say the customer service is about the best you’ll get anywhere. From the moment I purchased my furniture they were there every step of the way. All local, it was a breath of fresh air not to have the language barrier of overseas customer service. I was assigned a designated person (Adam) so I didn’t have to speak to numerous people. He was extremely helpful. This is very high quality furniture which is made to order so do expect to wait a few months to receive but very well worth it. Unfortunately through no one’s direct fault my furniture did have some damage but they were speedy about a resolution I am satisfied with.
